A repurposed disposable film camera lens

Retropia takes the actual lens element from a disposable film camera and re-engineers it to mount on your digital body. No filter, no simulation. A real lens, producing the soft focus, vignettes, flares, and chromatic character that made disposable film photos feel the way they did.

Real optical film character, straight out of camera

Slim enough to double as a body cap

Fixed aperture, infinity focus. No settings to touch.

    Use it for

An everyday lens for anything worth shooting. Slip it on, point, shoot.

Real film character. None of the friction.

Three ways to chase a film look on a digital workflow. Only one gives you optical character without the cost, the wait, or the editing.

    Frequently asked questions

It's noticeable. The lens produces real optical effects the moment light hits it: soft focus, vignetting, chromatic imperfections, flares. You'll see it on the back of your camera before you've edited a single frame. It isn't a filter you squint at. It's character, straight out of camera.

No. It's a real optical lens. The actual glass element from a disposable film camera, repurposed to mount on your mirrorless body. Presets change pixels after the shot. The Retropia lens shapes the light before it ever reaches your sensor. That's why the look feels real, not applied.

Software can replicate color. It can't replicate optics. The way light bends through cheap disposable-camera glass, the softness at the edges, the way highlights bloom, the way a flare catches. That's physical. It happens in the lens, not on a slider. Presets get you close on color. The lens is the other half of the equation.

Less than a preset pack. More character than a $500 vintage lens. If it doesn't live up to what we've shown you, you have 100 days to return it. No questions, no rush. We'd rather you try it and hate it than never try it at all.

Most of our customers tell us the same thing. It lives in their bag. Street, travel, portraits, nights out, daily life. It isn't a studio lens and it isn't trying to be. It's for the shots where you want feeling, not sharpness. For technical work, keep your main glass. For everything else, this is the one that makes photos feel alive.

It's built for Sony E, Fujifilm X, Canon RF, Canon EF-M, Canon EF/EF-S, Nikon Z, Nikon F, Micro Four Thirds, L-Mount, L39, and Leica M. Choose your mount at checkout. If you're unsure, check the "Which mount should I choose?" section further up the page.

How easy is it to actually use?

Mount it. Enable "shoot without lens" in your camera menu (a one-time setting). Shoot. Fixed aperture, infinity focus, everything beyond 1.5m is sharp. No batteries, no settings to tweak, no app. It's as close to a point-and-shoot as a mirrorless can get.

The lens handles the optics: the softness, the flares, the vignettes. That's the look, in-camera. The presets handle color: the warm tones, the faded shadows, the grain of classic film stocks. One gets you halfway. Together, it's the full film feeling. We include them free with every lens for that reason.

Go into your camera menu and enable "Shoot without lens" or "Release without lens." This tells the camera to let the shutter fire even without electronic contacts, which manual lenses like ours don't have. Every major mirrorless camera has this setting, usually under Custom Settings or Shooting Menu.

You have 100 days to shoot with it. If it isn't for you, reach out and we'll sort it. Refund, swap, whatever makes it right. No interrogation, no restocking runaround.
